Health & Safety Policy Statement


Stoneworks (South East) Ltd. founded in 2007, are apprenticed and time served operatives, with almost 45 years experience working on corporate and heritage structures, national monuments and buildings to deliver quality stonework. Our work is specifically related to new works/ new build, stone conservation and reforming to original profile on behalf of our Clients.

Stoneworks (South East) Ltd. is aware of the impact on the Health, Safety & Welfare of its employees, contractors under our control, and others who may be affected by our undertaking, especially with regard to working at heights, manual handling, and the use of hand and power tools.


1. Stoneworks (South East) Ltd. shall endeavour to carry out its operations in a timely and efficient manner giving highest regard the Health, Safety and Welfare of all employees at work and of any other persons who may be affected by the Company’s activities.

2. This Policy Statement, which is subject to regular review, outlines the policy and procedures for implementing the overall objectives of: -

• integrating and giving consideration to the OSH (Occupational Safety and Health) issues involved in all of the Company’s activities.

• continuous improvement through risk assessment and control and the prevention of incidents and accidents.

• ensuring all statements or directives from the Health & Safety Executive or other enforcing/regulatory bodies are reviewed, monitored and where necessary implemented.

• conducting the Company’s operations so as to comply willingly with all relevant laws, regulations and standards currently in force or pending and to co-operate with and assist the regulatory and enforcing authorities.

3. Policy implementation is promoted and monitored by Richard Groom (Director), and is responsible for the dissemination of information and general awareness of Health & Safety issues, particularly the Health & Safety Policy.

4. It is the responsibility of Richard Groom (Director) to ensure that a review of the Company’s existing and potential operations is carried out to identify hazards and risks to Health, Safety and Welfare.


5. In assessing whether there are any hazards and risks to Health & Safety, it is necessary to embrace both the activity itself and how it is carried out including any possible hazards and risks to the Health, Safety & Welfare of members of the public.

6. It is recognised that risk assessment and control and the prevention of incidents and accidents is less of a drain on resources than investigation and litigation. In making assessments as a result of any safety review, consideration shall be given to Sect. 4.3.3 of the OHSAS 18001:2007 Specification.
